With your technical expertise, you will design, implement and improve processes, procedures and automation for all database-centric areas. You will maintain our relational database systems and NoSQL systems for performance and reliability. You are responsible for tuning and configuring our databases and data platforms, as well as building tools and scripts to monitor, troubleshoot and automate our systems. You propose test plans and interface with other teams, developers and application owners to arrive at optimal solutions. ResponsibilitiesDesign, architect, and build SQL and NoSQL databases from determining business requirements to planning and deploying test and production systems.
Perform operational DBA (Database Admin) duties (e.g., installation, database upgrades, patching, environment cloning, implementing backup/recovery and monitoring procedures, capacity planning, site failover/switchover).
Perform scalability, latency, and availability tests on a regular basis.
Interface with other teams to resolve problems with application/database systems. QualificationsBA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Knowledgeable on NoSQL & RDBMS platforms (SQL Server, Cassandra, Couchbase, MongoDB).
Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and/or Elastic Search.
Proficient working with UNIX/Linux platforms.
Experience administering large-enterprise database environments.
Experience with multi-terabyte database systems.
Experience in automation using coding/scripting languages (such as shell scripting, Perl, Python, C/C++, or Java).
