#23245: Product Manager FinTech Equity Platform
Location: San Francisco, CA
Our client is a stock market for private companies. Their platform gives accredited investors access to the most successful private companies in the world. The secure platform makes it easier than ever to add pre-IPO equity to your portfolio or gain liquidity if you're a shareholder in a reliable, legal, and company-friendly way.
We're looking for experienced product managers, who will fulfill a key lead role in building a technology used by almost ever investor, employee, and company in Silicon Valley. The Product Manager role will leverage both the business and engineering team, acting as the liaison to identify product opportunities, prioritize the product roadmap, and own the outcomes.
-- Responsible for owning and optimizing the product roadmap, defining new product features, and analyzing existing features to ensure successful business outcomes
-- Define engineering priorities by breaking down the broader roadmap into key priorities and pieces for an effective, efficient development strategy
-- Manage the product development process through a strong understanding of the needs of our business development team, business operations team, and the use cases of our marketplace participants
-- Thorough, with a very high attention to detail
-- Determination to contribute and add value
-- Openness to put in the work -- not in terms of hours, but in terms of quality of output, and team contribution
-- Entrepreneurial, especially in being able to take calculated risks backed by data-driven, well researched opinions
-- Curiosity about different functions, roles, and aspects of the business
Small, elite team We currently conduct over $500M in annual trade volume, with only 7 members on our engineering team. We've accomplished these incredible numbers by building a stellar, high-performance team.
The right DNA Our team's expertise lies at the intersection of technology, finance, and law. We're led and advised by Y Combinator, Goldman Sachs, SecondMarket, Nasdaq, and BCG alumni, and are personally backed by Peter Thiel, Tim Draper, Scott/Cyan Banister, Charlie Cheever, and other prominent investors.
Healthy business model Huge market, very strong growth, growing profits There is over $1 billion of private company stock listed on the platform today, with tens of millions of dollars in equity traded every month. We take a ~5% fee on this (very friendly compared to the rest of the industry), and are quite profitable with our lean 22 person team.
Large, growing addressable market Billions of dollar of stock trade every year in the global secondary market, brokered through a network of brokers around the world in a slow, expensive, and inefficient process. This market is growing rapidly as the trend of companies having extended private lifetimes continues to grow, and more capital globally seeks the returns the public markets no longer offer.
