Our client is a well-funded startup developing the world's most advanced touch technology. The new force-sensitive technology that they've built enables new form factors, responds to any object, and works in virtually any environment.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work with us to design and develop electromechanical systems for the world's most advanced touch technology. This is a creative design role with a lot of autonomy and the opportunity to own mechanical design projects and see your ideas come to life meeting consumer demands.
-Design new touch systems for mobile devices, including metal and polymeric parts made by casting, molding, stamping, machining, and other techniques
-Own development and execution of parts from requirements, design, quality, reliability, through volume manufacturing
-Develop and test new stack ups for specific customer applications
-Create 2D and 3D design documentation using Solidworks
-Travel to Asia to perform first article inspection mechs, including cosmetic, functional, and dimensional factors
-Mechanical Design Portfolio showcasing your design achievements is required and submitting a great portfolio will zoom you to the top of the list of applicants. Your portfolio can contain your schoolwork, personal projects, or any other examples of your design work you have the right to share with us.
-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
-6+ years industrial experience
-Excellent hands-on prototyping skills including precision lamination, machine shop skills, laser cutting and 3D printing
-Familiar with or able to quickly learn manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping , converting, compression molding, etc.
-Have designed at least one successful high volume, mobile consumer electronics product from concept/architecture through mass production
-Ability to self-manage and deliver according to a schedule
-Up to 15% travel
-Manufacturing process control and improvement
-Work with OEMs is a plus
