Technology


Our client offers an event-driven platform that is composed of Java services that collaborate using REST and Kafka. Non-realtime processing is handled by Spark running MapReduce on our Hadoop cluster. Their consumer-facing front end is composed of highly optimized custom libraries which are injected into client websites. The administrative interface is a Backbone application built on top of our REST APIs. We use Terraform to fully describe our infrastructure on AWS.


Responsibilities and Duties


We are looking for a developer to build and enhance rich, scaleable user experiences that are intuitive to use. The front end lead roles and responsibilities include providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle from concept and design to testing.


Key components of this job include:
Leading the consumer creative architecture.
Working with the product team to set objectives for the consumer experience, plan the approach, and execute in a timely fashion
Prioritizing and executing new features, client customizations, triage/bug-fixes
Supporting the support team and writing comprehensive regression tests
Speaking directly to clients and represent Extole s capabilities while balancing development time and client expectations
Having an opinion! Have a desire and direction for the structure, function, and features of our consumer experience.
Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle
Preparing designs in compliance with specifications
Reviewing merge requests made by front end engineers
Defining architecture, best practices and coding standards for the front end group Supporting continuous technical improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review

Requirements
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
This is a team lead position which requires experience working on a professional development team. It is not an entry-level position.
Authorized to work in the United States, we cannot help with sponsorship
Proven hands-on web development experience with native JavaScript and JavaScript technologies like Node.js, Backbone, jQuery
Built mobile responsive websites with LESS/SASS/CSS, HTML, Bootstrap or equivalent
Interfaced with Restful APIs to integrate external services into projects including mobile and web environments.
Understand developing and supporting unit tests with tools like Jasmine, TestNG Used version control services like Git/GitHub and engaged in code review processes
Experienced with business conference calls. You can represent Extole s team and technology when talking directly to clients
Good communication abilities, you are articulate and well spoken and comfortable with public speaking
