This person will have a passion for developing products for communities traditionally underserved by technology and a desire to build an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture. If you are tirelessly curious and want to have a huge impact with the work you do everyday, our client could be a great fit.Responsibilities: -Grow, inspire and manage an engineering team capabale of prioritizing and implementing tasks and engineering initiatives with high velocity.- Drive the team's support and alignment of business objectives. - Manage a staff of engineers, serving as teh team liaison for the hiring process, work allocation, scheduling, training, professional development and performance evaluation- Provide hands-on technical leadership in day to day software implementation cycles, writing specifications, making designs trade-off participating in design reviews, coding and troubleshooting as required to fill the gaps in the group bandwidth. - Manage team project deadlines, milestones and progress. -Develop procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained - Collect, analyze and report metrics to stakeholders.- Assist in the decision making process during the design cycle and provide and objective view when reviewing implementation proposals. - Provide technical leadership for product and business strategy.- Collaborate with leadership to build a world-class engineering organization, including to plan and manage team and technology spend within budget. - Improve code quality and foster a culture of strong engineering design- Ship beautiful and functional productRequirements: -You're willing to dive into code as well as debug problems on your teams -You have managed products through the development life cylce several times-You have experience managing engineers and projects across the full stack: Frontend, Backend, Devops, QA as well as with distributed web-based systems and service-oriented architecture- A leader: you step up to the plate to guide your team, identigying clear goals that will be challenging, yet achievable.- Empathetic: You can put yourself in the shoes' of your direct reports and deliver constructive criticism.
